Too faced peach kiss lipstick- worth or not?

Lipsticks are awesome! There are just too many colours and options to choose from. Bright, bold, glossy, shimmery, matte and so much more. So when out shopping, a while back I decided to pick the Too faced peach kiss lipstick after I had realised I didn’t have much lipsticks, funnily enough.

Whilst this lipstick is matte, my preference has always leaned more towards a glossy textured lipsticks but I guess it was time to try something new, a change had to be made.

So in this review I’m going to go through what I really like about this product and if I had any issues. So sit tight!

But first let’s see what too faced peach kiss claim:

“Achieve a burst of intense matte colour Unsurpassed comfort, and hydration with this long-wearing, refreshing peach and sweet fig milk-infused formula”.

A quick overview:

Pro’s

  • Creamy formula
  • Great pigmentation for selected shades
  • Wide shade range
  • Easily removable
  • Cool design

Cons

  • Some shades didn’t have good pigmentation
  • Drying for dry lips in other words, not so moisturizing

First impressions

Okay now my impressions!

Too faced surely believe first impressions are somewhat important, and they certainly are!

The design of this lipstick is absolutely gorgeous! The lipsticks’ come in an ivory coloured case with gold detailing.

Towards the base there is also a gold coloured ring that goes around with the too faced initials, which I think adds a nice elegant touch.

The top cap, where you open it from, is tinted depending on the colour of lipstick chosen. At least you won’t have to open every stick to view the shade!

The too faced peach kiss also has a little weight to it, when compared to other lipsticks which in my opinion makes the product seem like it’s more valuable. Too faced peach kiss lipstick

When you take the lipstick cap off to reveal the actual product, you are met with a bullet that’s a little rectangular shaped and a tip that has the too faced initials right on top.

What I think is even cool is the little peaches that are carved around the sides. Cute if you ask me!

So the design definitely is eye-catching to me!

Application/formula

You notice how creamy the formula is when applying it to your lips even though too faced states it is a matte finish.

With matte formulas you would expect it to be a little stiff but not this one. I can say in this case for me it has a good texture as it easily glides onto the lips.

However, I’ve noticed that when you rub your lips together the formula moves a bit too easily and a while after wearing it, it made my lips appear patchy.

I have dry lips so this lipstick definitely wasn’t helping to cover this.

Another thing to add is somewhere towards the end, the formula started to sit into the corners of my lips which leads me to believe that this product may not be so great for aging lips. But then again that’s just my thought.

I’m not saying don’t give it a go because everyone has different experiences as well as lips and plus it could just be I didn’t prep my lips properly, which I don’t think I did!

“Intense pigment load and colour saturation”

Too faced say this lipstick has a great pigmentation.

What I found out after testing this is that the deeper shades did have a pretty decent pigmentation however the same can’t be said for the more neutral shades.

I had to apply a few times just so the colour can be seen and not my natural lip colour.

From the distant they did show a little colour but the closer you get it was apparent that the shades required a little more layering.

But the strange thing was that the swatch on the arm came out great, I’m not entirely sure why though.

Shades

There are around 20 shades available ranging from light pinks such as the ‘doll face’ and ‘make me blush’ to reds such as ‘breakfast club’ or ‘chill pill’ and the more deeper shades like ‘love is a battlefield’ which is a dark purple shade.

The colour which I prefer is the ‘doll face’, ‘flight risk’ and ‘where’s my peaches at’, which is a nice, not too bright peachy colour.

Maximum lastage

“8-hour long wear”

The lastage for me wasn’t much of a problem, it sat tight for around 5 to 6 hours which is more than enough for my usage.

The problem was more about the appearance as I’ve stated, it did make my already dry lips seem dryer, even more towards the end which in my opinion it can get away with, I mean it could have been worse, imagine drying right after applying! Yikes!

I’m not to sure why though because at the beginning the formula did look like it was doing my lips a favour but then suddenly turned on it.

The good thing is that I didn’t experience any feathering and it was effortlessly removable.

Overall

Overall, I have mixed feelings towards this product, I really love the design, how easily it went on and the lastage but on the other hand the pigmentation was 50/50 and the formula towards the end especially wasn’t too appealing.

I wouldn’t say it was hydrating enough for my lips on it’s own though but with a moisturizer I was able to deal with it.

I don’t think I would buy it for the neutral shades but if I had to it would only be for going on small trips.

In my opinion those who don’t have overly dry lips may find it works better for them but then again everyone’s lips aren’t the same so don’t be afraid to try.

I am a big fan of matte lipsticks, I have to say whenever I bought a shiny one or a lip gloss I just try it on and then don’t use it 🙂 This lipstick looks very tempting to me. You are right that the design is gorgeous it seems to have a nice texture. I wonder what scent does it have.
Reading your review saying it lasts 6 to 8 hours, I think I’ll give it a try. My lips are not dry or easy to get dry so it could be a good pick for me.

Hi Lenka, thanks for the comment

The scent isn’t too bad, I mean some of the products I’ve tried just really put you off! But luckily not this one. I think you may love this product especially since you don’t have overly dry lips.
