Nyx Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation

The Nyx can’t stop won’t stop foundation is the brand’s best selling product so of course anyone would be curious to know why, plus it is vegan and cruelty free so nothing to worry about here!

Now I’m not a huge fan of full coverage foundations since they can be heavy on the skin along with tightening however I’ve heard the opposite about this the can’t stop won’t foundation. It is said to feature a light weight formula but we won’t know until we’ve tested it, so shall we continue with this review?!

Shades

Nyx can’t stop won’t stop foundation The nyx can’t stop won’t stop foundation has a great number of shades, around 43 shades! They include neutral as well as warm undertones. Their fairest shade is ‘CSWSF01’ which is described as pale by the brand with in between shades like ‘CSWSF14’ a golden honey, ‘CSWSF15.7’ which is a warm caramel. The deepest shade is ‘CSWSF25’ known as deep ebony. So as you can see there is a shade for everyone!

They don’t have a particularly interesting name and I would say they are quite forgettable compared to ones with more appealing titles, for example ‘mahogany’, ‘honey’ and so on. They consist of numbers, letters and a word.

But I don’t blame them, I mean with this many shades of course it’s much easier to just throw some numbers and letters!

With this many shades it was certainly going to be a little more complicated. But with the help of a friend I settled on the one named ‘CSWSF07’ which is a natural.

Application

The brand mention that ‘every creamy shade glides on smooth’ which means I wouldn’t be wrong to expect an effortless application. When it comes to full coverage and matte finishes I feel like applying has to be quick otherwise you run the risk of it drying out or oxidising.

They are often a little harder to blend too due to the thickness however the nyx foundation is said to be lightweight so there shouldn’t be an issue there either., blending also becomes hard!

So how’d it go you ask? Well firstly talking about the application process, I found it to be quite easy overall. The formula though providing a full matte finish was actually smooth to apply, gliding along happily. I prepped my skin well beforehand which included a procedure of cleansing, toning as well as moisturising, oh and priming.

I then dispensed some of the foundation onto my hand before using a fluffy brush to blot and then quickly work my way blending up and outwards.

I like how I didn’t had to drag the brush harshly nor felt the skin being pulled whilst blending in the foundation. The formula has a liquid consistency with some creaminess to it but do make sure to give the bottle a shake to ensure all the formula is at its best!

The amount I used wasn’t that much which does suggest that this foundation has a decent pigment. I always for that reason start off with a tiny amount and then if required add more.

How well does the nyx can’t stop won’t foundation perform?

Does it control shine? Is it waterproof, transferproof and humidity proof?

Let me tell you! First of all I would like to say the foundation is overall comfy to wear that is with a single coat however if like me you are used to light or sheer coverage formulas then layering on isn’t going to feel too nice.

I mean it doesn’t feel tight like other full coverage foundations I have tried or stiff, it is just not my preference definitely not the formula!

As for the waterproof feature, I would say is good, I did come in contact with some light water a few times and the foundation didn’t feel like it had been effected majorly except some areas where I had to retouch up a little but other than that thumbs up.

Now about transferring that too ticks the box. I didn’t find any foundation stains on my clothing or other materials so I’m guessing a thumbs up too! As for humidity, I can’t really speak for that since I didn’t test it in such conditions but I reckon it should do well if it passes the waterproof feature!

Nyx state this foundation is suitable for all skin types including normal, oily, combination as well as sensitive which is awesome since I have sensitive skin which doesn’t sometimes accept formulas and ends up becoming itchy especially if worn for longer periods. This foundation is also said to be non drying which makes it suitable for dry skin peeps too!

I have a combination skin with a specially oily forehead, that is the first place where the excess shine appears. The nyx can’t stop won’t stop foundation did for the majority of the time keep my oil in check however around the 7th hour it decided it had eenough.

But I would say it does control shine for most the part, it is a matte finish foundation after all! My skin too was fine with the formula, there was thankfully no acting up so a happy skin, happy me!

Lastage

I am expecting the nyx can’t stop won’t foundation to last a good amount of time evermore so if the brand state that this foundations colour ‘stays true for up to 24 hours’! It seems almost too good to be true! Well find out! And it is just not a 24 hour wear, you also receive an ultra matte finish along with even true colour for 24 hours!

Right let’s get straight into it! I found the foundation roughly lasted around 9 hours and that is basically when I decided it was time to wash it off. I know it can certainly go a lot more considering it was quite strong until the point I removed it.

Throughout I didn’t reapply which suggests it does actually have a long lasting wear. The finish did appear matte most the time apart from my forehead where there was some shine, however nothing serious, all I did was blot a little and it was good as new!

So I would definitely consider it as staying true to its colour. How about for 24 hours? Well I can’t speak for that since I hadn’t worn it that long yet I am sure it has the potential to go that long judging by my experience!

Right that’s it for now peeps but if you don’t want to leave then I suggest you check out more awesome matte foundations here!

Have a great day!
