The elf blending sponge randomly landed in my basket. It looked nice and spongy when I gave the packet a squeeze almost like a stress ball and since I haven’t tried applying products with beauty blenders before so I thought why not!
Anyways if you’d like to know how the elf blending sponge performs then I suggest you continue reading to find out!
Description
The elf blending total face sponge is described as a ‘plush multi-sided beauty blender’ which apparently allows you peeps to blend easily with your favourite makeup products. Elf state you will love this sponge as it is designed with soft latex free foam. This beauty sponge features angled sides which allows its customers to create smooth, streak free blending.
According to the brand it was voted the best mass makeup sponge by influenster. You can use this sponge with liquid as well as powdered products. Wet or dry formula, this sponge is compatible with all!
How to use
The elf blending sponge as mentioned has angles sides which means it’s usage varies too. Basically the side with a more precise point is ideal for applying concealers or makeup products which are to be applied in smaller areas. The other end, the slanted side is designed to ‘hug the curves of your face’ making it easier for a smooth and effortless blending process.
Application
After using it a few times I would say it is quite effective with both liquid as well as powder products. One thing I would suggest is you dampen the beauty blender a little before going in with powdered products as it helps to grab it more. To be honest I don’t use beauty blenders much, I prefer my fingers or a makeup brush since I use light and sheer finish foundations. I haven’t actually tried using a beauty blender for applying lightly, I think I shall after checking it out now.
The sponge itself is quite firm yet soft. It isn’t spongey as I expected it to be if you get what I mean but as long as it does it’s job that’s all we care about. Actually we don’t want a rock hard sponge but I can assure you the elf blending sponge isn’t dangerously solid! It’s just right!
Overall
Overall I rate the elf blending sponge a rating of 8/10! It has a good shape, with angled sides which gives us the ability to blend and apply in various places including small spaces where applying in precision is required. The sponge does have the ability to blend evenly at the moment, I’m saying this since some products tend to rapidly loose their quality. So in order to see if elf beauty blender is one of those products I would have to use and abuse it for sometime.
The beauty sponge has some good firmness to it as well, not too hard but not flimsy. The size is perfect, able to fit in your hands comfortably.
I would say it is more great with liquid makeup products than dry ones as it looks like it seems to vanish when you try to get some onto the face.
That’s it for now peeps!
But if you don’t want to leave just yet then I suggest you check out these awesome makeup brushes, if you prefer them!
Have a great day!
