Primers are usually applied in between skin preparation and makeup application, so basically after you have prepped your skin but just before applying foundation.

Primers are quite important but it’s easy to assume that they are of no use when they aren’t achieving what you are after. But there’s usually a reason to that, and it’s pretty easy to solve.

One of the reasons is you probably aren’t getting the right primer for your individual skin type.

For example if you have oily skin then you should go for one that is oil free, for a dry skin, looking for a moisturizing product is a great idea.

I know next to nothing about makeup. Everything I know I have learned from watching my girlfriend put makeup on in front of the bathroom mirror before she heads off to work. It’s a fascinating process, mystical in practice and esoteric in spirit. Her makeup box is like a potion master’s kit, filled with powders, ointments and unguents.

I now know a little more about this mysterious process thanks to your article.

That’s great you were able to get something out of this post! Haaa, a box full of make-up for those who are not fully aware of these cosmetics can surely seem mystical!

For many, makeup can be the ultiate neccessity and many women wouldnt even dare venture outside without their ake-up on. However, aswe know, some cheap and nasty make ups can damage your skin. So its good to see a bit of information to point people in the right direction for healthy cosmetics.

    Thanks

    Hi Sariyah
Thanks for making comparison on the various primers. Your favorite ELF brand outshines all other when it comes to pricing. I think it is a good choice and impressive too.  The pricing is the main factor why most of the women go for makeup products which does not suit them or hard on their skin. Experience make the correction but by them many have got the dent. Your blog may really help such lovely ladies.
    Warm Regards,
    Gaurav Gaur

My daughter has oily skin and acne so I was happy to find out there is a primer just for her problem!! The mattifying primer by cover fx sounds great. It is hard to find the effective make up product especially when you’ve got acne! She doesn’t want to make things worse. Thank you for this helpful review of primers for oily skin!

      Hi, thanks for the comment!

Oily skin plus acne! That does sound hard! But thankfully there are products catered towards both of these skin types. For oily skin try going for products which are oil free and with acne, chemical free or organic products are quite helpful!

I suggest you check out the elf acne fighting foundation!

Beauty, they say, its in the eyes of the beholder. I love to see my wife’s foundation before she does the finishing. So I love to see when she lays the foundation, and she also takes time to do an excellent job at it. I have been on the look for a good primer for her oily skin. Thanks for coming up with a mattifying primer. She likes to make up with natural ingredients free from chemicals.
