I’m not a huge fan of lipsticks, it’s not that I don’t like them, I just don’t know I don’t really wear them often, eventhough the colours almost always attracts me, I’m more of a lip gloss person or I just use moisturizer. So your probably wondering how did I get my hands on the too faced melted liquified long wear lipstick, well it was all thanks to my imaginary friend!
I mean I could tell you the story but then I may get too excited and go way off topic so I think it’s best if we leave that for another time!
So back to the review, I’m going to go through the good aspects of this lipstick and the not so cool, so stick around if you’d like to know!

Quick overview:
Pros
- Great lastage
- Easy application
- Good shade range
- Lightweight
- Good pigmentation
Cons
- A little expensive for the amount packed
- Not as moisturizing for dry lips
Firstly let’s get through what this product is about!
Too faced on their liquified long wear lipstick:
“An innovative ultra-matte liquid lipstick, this foolproof formula offers the staying power of a stain, matched by the intense colour of a lipstick.
Delivered on an angled applicator for perfectly precise application, the velvety formula is as lightweight as it is long-wearing, veiling lips in comfortable, cushioned and ultra-pigmented colour.”
Packaging
I really like the packaging, enough that I’d want to talk about it on its own. The outer most packaging comes in the matching shade of lipstick you have chosen with the word ‘matte’ written in gold and ‘melted’ in black italics.
At the bottom is a bit of gold along with the ‘too faced’ written at the top.
The product itself comes in a see through small rectangular bottle. The lipstick formula doesn’t fill the packaging completely due to the design, which I think is something different however can be a little wasting.
How long does the colour last?
Let’s get the lastage out of the way first!
The lastage is okay. I mean I would consider it long-lasting however when you eat you’ll notice a few transfers but what I do like about this product is that when it does fade, it fades away evenly instead of leaving blotches, so it’s a more natural looking process. The lipstick got through around 7 hours.
It doesn’t bleed majorly like some lipsticks, where you take your time to neaten it and then a few hours into it, you catch a glimpse of a sad looking clown. Disappointed that is!
I used a lip liner to make sure bleeding was minimized and it sure worked. Without the lip liner unfortunately it wasn’t too good, the clown came a little sooner. So if you want to make the most of it use a liner!
Ease of application
Delivered on an angled applicator for perfectly precise application’
The application process was super easy, and the applicator was pretty good too. It allowed application towards the centre to be precise and neat when lining.
Some applicators have a little fluffiness to them which I think helps with giving the lips a soft look. The tip with this particular lipstick allowed for effortless applying!
Shades
The shades are awesome! You have around 25 shades to choose from. There are neutrals, bolds and deep shades. Something for everyone!
I like the shades “child star, my type, who’s zoomin who, bend and snap” (why don’t I write them all down). I still need to purchase a few of them to try out.
Oh and I’d also like to know the story behind some of the names they seem like they could have a pretty interesting story to them. Or is it just me?
Moisturising or dry?
With lipsticks, I feel like they are either super moisturizing or drying and then there are the cool in-between ones which can be hard to find.
Imagine having constantly dry lips, no matter how much hydrated you keep yourself, well that’s me 🙁
So that means finding the perfect lipstick is even more harder. With the too faced lipstick I found that it does dry pretty quick after a few minutes however it doesn’t overly dry out my lip.
I mean do expect a little dryness, after all this is a matte finish, but it’s manageable.
I didn’t feel the moisturisingness (if that’s a word) of it but with a little lip preparation you’ll find your pout does appear more hydrated.
The formula on the lips felt nice and light not too heavy or stiff. It didn’t also sink into the corners so the overall experience I can say was good.
So would I buy it if it wasn’t for the imaginary friend? Maybe a shade after a while though as I do find it rather costly for the amount that gets given.
