A good formula for this type of skin is one without heavy fragrance or harsh ingredients as they aggravate the skin even more. Products with moisturizing and hydrating formulas are a big help for skin reactions like dryness.

For sensitive skin, foundations that come in a mineral form are usually the most suited type. They usually contain natural ingredients and are chemical free. You’ll often see foundation for sensitive skin are rich in ingredients like:

  • Aloe Vera

Hey utuku! If you have sensitive or acne prone skin it’s best to find out the root cause, it could be drinking less water, you might be using products which contain harsh chemicals that aggravate your delicate skin and many other reasons but the good thing is usually it’s nothing you can’t sort out!

I’ve always had a thing for makeup. However, because I’ve always had sensitive skin, I get itchy every now and then. As a result, this is extremely beneficial to me in terms of skin care. I’m glad there are alternatives for my sensitive skin because I desperately need it. There is so much out there that I have no idea. As a result, this is beneficial to me.

    • Sariyah

Hey Kiersti, glad this has been a help!

Sensitive skin often get irritated quite easily and without notice but that shouldn’t mean you should be afraid to try makeup products, trying patch tests before applying on larger areas and go for products made for gentle skins or formulas that are clean.

E.L.F acne fighting foundation is definitely the foundation I’ve been searching for my whole life to sell to my customers with irritation on their skins when they apply the other types of foundations. This foundation understands that my customers are trying to look glorious and excuisit with foundation, not itchiness and redness on their faces. I can’t wait to share this with them. This article is a life saver. You gotta read this article friends.

This is a life saver. My skin is so sensitive. I’m the only guy in my circle( and it’s big) with a sensitive skin.

I’m so relieved that there are products to work on my skin. I’ve tried several. One particular one (not on this list) affected me badly i almost developed phobia for aftershaves and the likes.

Since Bare minerals original foundation is all natural it looks like something I will try out thanks

This is a great resource – a list of great foundations especially suited for sensitive skins. However I think that all skin types can benefit from using these products as most are paraben free, have antioxidants, and don’t have gluten or alcohol, which always tend to make my skin dry, especially the alcohol.

I think the big thing with sensitive skins is by far the way you put on and remove the products. Gentleness is key so that you don’t cause any irritation.

    • Sariyah

Hey Michel thanks for the comment!

What you stated couldn’t be more true, any skin type can benefit from products which are free from junk and being gentle definitely helps soothe sensitive skins which can otherwise get irritated very quickly.

  • Danny

The importance of foundations can not be overlooked. As much as one would love to get a good or high quality foundation, one should also pay attention to suitability for one’s skin. And you have listed a lot of foundations perfect for sensitive skins. I have seen faces that reacted to the make up products and I must say it is devastating. Articles like this should be continually made available to educate people about such things. Thanks for this wonderful piece.

    • Sariyah

Hey Danny thank you for the comment!

True words spoken there! It’s always a wise idea to test a small amount of formula on your skin before going full in, we don’t want a bad reaction!

  • Diane

I’ve always had sensitive skin and makeup always made my skin itchy. So the best solution I had found : no makeup.

But you do want to look your best from time to time (especially when your skin is all red from the cold…) So thank you for your post, I didn’t know any of the products but I’ll definitely try them out !

    Hi,

Very informative article. There are a few things that I would like to suggest. There are grammatical errors in your article even the title of the one I read. it supposed to read – best makeup foundation for sensitive skin – that makes a difference. You might want to use the free version of Grammarly to help with the grammar. Also your spacing and images are inconsistent. Reading on a mobile isn’t a pleasant experience. Some titles are broken up and some images not properly aligned. The ones with text around are also not properly aligned. You might want to go through and check these minor things otherwise very great content. All the best!
